
Mac-ghetti for 100
Ingredients
- 6 lbs. noodles (or substitute 4 lbs. macaroni)
- 15 lbs. ground beef
- Shortening or meat drippings
- 1 qt. chopped celery
- 1 pt. chopped onion
- 1/2 c. flour
- 6 qts. tomato sauce
- 1 c. brown sugar
- Scant 1/2 c. salt
- Pepper to taste
- Garlic if desired
- Grated cheese
Directions
1) Cook noodles by package directions.
2) Brown meat in a little fat or oil.
3) Boil celery and onions in salted water until tender; add to meat.
4) Blend flour with a little of the tomato sauce; stir into meat along with remaining sauce, sugar and seasonings.
5) Cook until flavors are blended.
6) Add more seasonings if desired.
7) Stir in noodles.
8) Bake at 350 F. for 45 to 60 minutes.
9) Shake cheese on top.
